What kind of driver are you? Do you really think you drive well ? Well now you have the opportunity to participate in a study on driving habits among the population. Drive Smart will analyze our attitude behind the wheel to offer a faithful x-ray of how Spaniards are when they get into their car .
Drive Smart wants to find the different driver profiles. The idea is to see from the efficient driver, who drives responsibly, to the most temperamental driver, who drives based on acceleration and braking. In this way, it will be possible to quantify and, above all, look for formulas to improve our driving. Improvements whose purpose is to contribute to road safety and, therefore, to try to reduce accidents on the roads.
This App, promoted by the Institute Traffic and Road Safety Research University of the University of Valencia (INTRAS), together with the Center for The Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) will try to answer questions such as How do we conduct? What mistakes or infractions do we make on the road? What types of drivers are there? How to improve our mobility or make it more efficient and safe?
And since undergoing studies is somewhat uncomfortable for many, Drive Smart ensures total confidentiality and anonymity to the participants. The App does not intend to detect possible offenders, but rather to make a global portrait, so no personal information is required for the installation or activation of the application. The only thing that this App will analyze will be variables related to circulation, braking, going through curves, acceleration processes, etc.
Apart from these analyzes, the App also wants to encourage drivers to be responsible behind the wheel. To do this, he uses a series of questions and messages with motivating effect.
To participate in this study, all you have to do is download the Drive Smart App and activate it every time you get in the car. It works as a driving coach that monitors and analyzes the behavior of the user behind the wheel, and offers useful and personalized advice to correct possible mistakes made. During the journey, the App analyzes, in real time, the driving maneuvers, which will finally produce the final report.
