We thought not; We all understood that it was a waste of time for hackers but we were wrong. Apps for Apple devices also have viruses. Trend, a British security company, has detected two Apps harmful for our privacy; two Apps that hide a tremendous danger and that could already be installed on our iPhone . It has always been said that the market share and the controls that all Apps are subjected to before being posted on the Apple Store made it impossible or not profitable to program spy applications for iOs devices. However, it seems that this is no longer the case. Although the percentage compared to its competitor, Android , is negligible, two applications have sneaked into our iPhone to steal sensitive material corresponding to our privacy. Apple also gets constipated. The malicious apps found by Trend targeted the theft of contact lists, text messages, captured images and even audios through clandestine recordings. Xagent and MadCap are the Apps that have this dubious honor of being one of the few that have dared, and have managed, to circumvent Apple’s controls. XAgent has been in circulation, infecting mobiles, since September of last year but it has not been until now that its presence has been detected. Enough time for it, together with MadCap , to seize important data from Apple phone users. The full list of stolen data is:
  • Text messages
  • Contact lists
  • Images
  • Geolocation data
  • Voice recordings (started without warning)
  • Lists of installed apps
  • Process lists
Data that is more than important and whose use, not only commercial, can be especially dangerous. As we read in the specialized portal Wayerless , to detect if your phone is infected you have to review the list of processes and wait until you do not find any < strong> IOS_XAGENT.A or a IOS_XAGENT.B .
