The calling is going to end, and it’s over

The trend is clear and what for many is obvious as a result of observing the environment, the data support it. In Spain talking on the phone is running out . The proliferation of instant messaging apps has killed voice communication. The telephone, originally conceived as a means of communication by voice, has definitely become a written medium in what can undoubtedly be considered the greatest transformation of a communication medium to date. The data revealed a few days ago by The App Date corresponding to the V Report on Apps in Spain reveals that practically all citizens prefer to send a message rather than call by phone. Specifically 96% of the population is more inclined to write (with more or less kits) than not to calls. In that, obviously, WhatsApp has had a lot to say, the application that we all have installed and which is so difficult to overshadow. Despite the massive presence of WhatsApp, a good number of citizens make the use of different messaging applications compatible. The most common options are Skype , Telegram or Line . Snapchat , an App with a great presence in other European countries, however it has a residual character among Spanish citizens with a level of implantation that does not reach 12%. But it is not only that we use messaging Apps more than other means to communicate, but also, due to their immediacy and convenience, we do it continuously and practically compulsively . Almost 40% of the population uses a messaging app several times in an hour. The rise of this type of Apps has even managed to transform “our most intimate habits -such as communication with our loved ones- that mobile applications have achieved. Its consolidation has not only marked a before and after in our way of communicating, but also in our social habits and the way we interact ”, he commented Javier Navarro, CEO of The App Date Spain during the presentation of the aforementioned report. Another notable element that emerges from this study is trying to capture the state of the Apps market. With a slowdown in the volume of daily downloads, which reaches the not inconsiderable figure of 3.8 million , the market seems to have consolidated in anticipation of new stimuli that may come from the hand of Apps for alternative devices to mobiles. “The results of Spain respond to the fact that our market is maturing. Every time we have more information and we are more selective when it comes to downloading applications . It is a trend that is already very clear in the United States and that in Spain, although more slightly, is beginning to be recognized. From now on it will be more difficult for developers to enter users’ phones, but those who do it well will be able to stay longer ”, Javier Navarro points out about this decline. Regarding the preferred time for Spaniards to use applications, the report indicates that the peak time for the use of applications in our country is between 6 pm and 9 pm . Among the users, the majority (65%) are between 25 and 44 years old, with the use being concentrated especially among those between 25 and 34 years old.
