King of App

He repentance It is part of our daily life on social networks. Who has not been embarrassed by a post posted in the early hours of the morning? Who has not wanted to delete a post? unfortunate comment? Or even, who lives in ignorance that any of these comments can cost him his job? Luckily, a App can help us patch up the past.

When Ethan Czahor, the creator of this App, lost his job as head of technology for the political campaign of Jeb Bush realized the importance of having a presence in the Social networks completely clean. The reason for his dismissal was a series of offensive tweets published years ago that the press did not take long to bring to light. Possibly, he did not even remember them, perhaps they were in an ironic tone, as he himself claimed, but taken out of context they sparked controversy and, consequently, ended their professional career.

In order to avoid situations like this, Czahor created “Clear” an application capable of detecting those comments that may be inappropriate. This App is able to scan all the posts posted on Facebook, for all the tweets of Twitter and for each and every one of the photos posted on Instagram to detect those messages that, by being forgotten or not given enough importance, could harm us.

The program, which is supported by the supercomputer “IBM Watson” poses an algorithm that analyzes and searches for suspicious words related to topics of special concern (especially for American morality). Thus, it scans our accounts in search of abuse and others offensive comments.

The analysis of the posts produces a series of notifications about each one of them, evaluating and displaying those that are considered presumptively incriminating. From there, it is up to each user to decide whether or not to delete these messages.

Still in beta phase and with a waiting list to download the App, “Clear” promises to expand services in the coming months to reach, even, Photographic analysis.

What is clear, and the case of Czahor is a good example, is the weight that social networks also have in our professional life. There are many recruiters and departments of Human Resources who devote part of their time studying job candidates, and even their own employees, to their social activity on the networks. Because, yes, Facebook already knows and says much more about us than we do about ourselves.
