King of App

Why do apps prefer to eat apples?

Or to put it another way: why do new apps arrive first on Apple devices rather than Android?

The answer is very simple: because Apple places apps in a prominent place in its App Store for a certain period of time in exchange for the exclusivity that this means for its users.

Android customers are more or less used to having to wait for a new app to become established on Google Play before they can download and enjoy it. Instead, it seems that many apps, and especially many games, are available for iOS devices before they are available for Android. For example, Apple got a exclusivity agreement with Electronic Arts (company responsible for such famous games as Plants vs. Zombies), or the game Cut the Rope 2 from developer ZeptoLab in exchange for their games being visible on the front page of the App Store for two to three months.

Another decisive factor that large companies take into account when launching their apps on the market is the problem of Android fragmentationApple only has a couple of mobile devices, the iPhone and the iPad, but Android is present in hundreds of different models. This fact makes many developers opt for Apple and its most similar formats rather than Android, whose devices have very different screens and operating systems.
