(How to) Configure Twitter module

The content of an App is the reference to get a good number of downloads. The access to social networks is undoubtedly one of the elements that every user wants to have on hand. Therefore we developed the Twitter module; all publications for this network of microblogging are available to anyone. Today, we’ll show you how this functionality is configured.

As always, you have to go to market modules and choose the “Twitter feed”. Once loaded in the App Editor it is time to see what fields must be filled in for correct operation of the module. There are two: Twitter ID and number of posts.

The Twitter ID is the identifier of the account you want to show on the app. To achieve this we must go to the Settings section of the Twitter account.

You have to access by clicking on the Twitter avatar from your profile. In the drop-down menu you should go to “Settings”.

Inside configuration settings, at the sidebar menu there will be various options. One of the latest is “Widgets”. That’s where we should go.

The next step once inside Widgets is clicking the button “create new” if we have no other above or “edit” for existing ones.

Once edited and created, just below the feed of tweets there will appear a box with a html code. There it is where we will find the ID Twitter account.

In our case, the code that appears is something like this. And the ID can be easily located:

<a class=”twitter-timeline” href=”https://twitter.com/theKingofApp” data-widget-id=”438651236699475968″>Tweets por el @theKingofApp.</a>
<script>!function(d,s,id){var js,fjs=d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0],p=/^https:/.test(d.location)?’http’:’https’;if(!d.getElementById(id)){js=d.createElement(s);js.id=id;js.src=p+”://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js”;fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js,fjs);}}(document,”script”,”twitter-wjs”);</script>

It seems complicated, but it isn’t.

With this ID in our hands we will just need to fill the remaining field. In it, you will be able to specify the number of entries you want to show to your App users. This numerical value can range from 1 to infinity;.)

Just filling two fields will make a whole Twitter feed available on your App. A wall on which you can interact responding to tweets, retweeting or clicking “like” at any publication.
