Admob: how to configure and monetize with ads

Written by

AdMob is a mobile advertising company founded by Omar Hamoui, which was established on 10 April 2006. Its name is a “portmanteau” for “mobile advertising”. Before being acquired by Google, AdMob acquired the company AdWhirl, which is a platform for the development of advertising applications for iPhone. AdMob offers advertising solutions for many mobile platforms, including Android, iOS, webOS, Flash Lite, Windows Phone and all standard mobile web browsers.

The company is one of the world’s largest mobile advertising platforms, delivering more than 40 billion banners and text ads per month through mobile websites and applications.

AdMob is a mobile advertising network that helps application developers monetize and promote their mobile and tablet ad applications. Provides solutions for discovery, branding and monetization on the mobile web. Its advertising and monetization solutions include mobile sites; Mobile Analytics, which helps mobile site owners gain information about their traffic and site usage to make data-driven decisions about their business; and Mobile Metrics Report, which provides information about mobile ecosystem trends.

This platform does most of the work for you so you can focus on improving your application while earning money with it. It can be used with all top platforms: Android and iOS, with support for major game engines such as Unity and Cocos2d-x.

Integrating AdMob with Google Play services automatically improves the performance of Android applications without additional changes to the SDK. AdMob enables application developers to monetize apps in a variety of formats, including banner, interstitial, native, and rewarded, with a wide range of media including text, images, video, and playback. You can also use AdMob Mediation to maximize your fill rate and increase your earnings by serving ads from more than 40 ad networks.

How does AdMob work?

AdMob can be used for Android and iOS applications and allows developers to monetize your applications by displaying in-app ads from other advertisers. You can set filters to make sure the ads displayed are relevant to the users of your application. It also has control over the types of ad formats it allows. Choose from banner ads, full interstitial pages, video ads and native ads.

The company also offers a comprehensive mediation platform that enables developers to manage and mediate ad requests across more than 40 third-party networks. The platform helps you maximize the profitability of your application.

AdMob helps developers who are prepared to monetize their mobile apps for free within the developer’s own applications. You can easily evaluate the performance of your campaign by tracking installations such as conversions. This tool is fully integrated with Google Analytics, allowing you to access all the metrics and dimensions that are important to your application: user acquisition, participation, revenue, screen views, sessions, application version, screen size and much more. You can also segment your audiences to get a perspective on how people use your application.

How to set up AdMob and get money from it.

Mediation groups are combinations of segmentation configurations that help optimize the revenue generated by your advertising units. You can create mediation groups in advance and then add units and ad sources as you go, or create them all at once. Instead of defining mediation options for each ad unit repeatedly, you can define them once and then add your ad units to the groups you want. Once you have set up mediation in AdMob, you can use the Google Developer Guide (Android, iOS) to implement mediation in your applications.

Steps to set up your AdMob.

1- Log in to your AdMob account at https://apps.admob.com.

2- Click Mediation in the sidebar.
